On this plan you will visit the community of Mocagua, Altamira in Peru, the municipality of Puerto Nariño, the Maikuchiga monkey rescue foundation and the community of Vista Alegre in Peru. Members of our team will meet you at the airport to accompany you to take the river transport at the dock in Leticia. Once you arrive in Mocagua, we will have lunch ready for you to taste the local delicacies. After lunch we will take you to see the beautiful Mocagua Island, where we will take very special walks and you will learn the history of this magical place. After finishing exploring the island, we will go on a boat in search of pink and gray dolphins. It will be an experience of getting ready in their natural habitat and you will feel like a true explorer as you look for them when they come to the surface. On your way back to Mocagua you will sail along the majestic Amazon River and enjoy its impressive sunsets. At night, you will have a delicious dinner to recharge your energy, as you will end the day with a night walk in the jungle. For the second day, you will have breakfast and embark towards the community of Alta Mira, located on Cacao Island in Peru, very close to Puerto Nariño. You will spend the whole day in this community, taking a walk to observe a giant Ceiba tree, you will have lunch in the community, you will go to see sloths in their natural habitat, you will visit a lake where you can see the Amazonian lotus flower and you will have a snack. You will return to Mocagua by boat towards sunset. Finally, you will have dinner in La Ceiba before going to rest. On the third day, after breakfast, you will leave for Puerto Nariño on a private boat. You will get to know this beautiful municipality and you will have the opportunity to enter the Natutama museum, where you will learn about the Amazonian culture, as well as different animals and habitats. You will go up to the viewpoint to appreciate the landscape from above. Afterwards you will have lunch and head out to the lakes of Tarapoto. You will return to Mocagua towards sunset. You will have a comforting dinner before resting from your day of exploration. On the fourth day you will have breakfast and then visit the Maikuchiga Foundation, who work on the rehabilitation of monkeys rescued from illegal trafficking. You will return to La Ceiba for lunch and in the afternoon you will visit a traditional chagra (indigenous crop) to learn about local traditions. In the evening you will have dinner and then head out on a night-time coastal adventure. On the fifth day you will have breakfast before heading out to Vista Alegre in Peru. There you will tour the community with the Musmuki community tourism group, who work to conserve the Night Monkey. Afterwards you will take a hike in the jungle, have lunch and, depending on the season of the year, you may visit some nearby lakes. On your return to Mocagua you will end the day with dinner in La Ceiba On the sixth and final day, after breakfast you will take part in a traditional basketry or weaving workshop, and then return by public boat to Leticia.
