About us
La Ceiba was founded in 2018 by María Monayatofe and Manuel Sinarahua, a couple from Mocagua. After working for several years in sustainable tourism and dreaming of their own project, they built this hotel together with all the care and love to share the magic of the Amazon with their guests.
In 2018, they started with 3 rooms, and today the hotel has 14 rooms. In addition, the project has always sought to generate employment and well-being for other members of the Mocagua community. Today, there are more than 8 people working in La Ceiba, as kitchen staff, customer service, and local guides.

We recommend cream repellents, which evaporate more slowly than spray repellents. Pastor's Icaridin repellent has proven effective for different travelers. We have found the Pastor brand repellent to be quite effective.
